This is a joint meeting with the Industrial History Section of the Yorkshire Archaeological and Historical Society
The Locomotive Galleries at Armley Mills Museum have been closed since catastrophic flooding in December 2015. A major flood prevention scheme, which included a flood wall around the Museum site and the rebuilding of the gallery wall adjacent to the River Aire, has now been completed, and the galleries will reopen to the public in 2026.
This meeting is an opportunity to view the newly completed gallery and to hear about the major locomotive industry in Leeds and the important railway collection held by the Museum.
