After the First World War, there was quite a move to family days out by cycle, car or train and the canal water supply lakes for the Stratford on Avon Canal became such an attraction with a nature reserve, fishing, boating, woodland walks, pubs and tea shops.
Jim Andrew will cover these attractions as well as the technical aspects of a complex water supply system with three lakes, miles of feeders and a steam pump to raise water for the canal.
