A co-authored paper presented by Dr. Emily Rees Koerner and Professor Graeme Gooday.

In 2019 the Women’s Engineering Society celebrated its centenary (founded in 1919 when they held their first conference in Birmingham). The two speakers will present evidence of women’s roles in engineering during the 19th and 20th centuries, uncovered whilst they researched historical tales of women engineers in Birmingham and the Midlands.

They are now working on a broader history along with the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists.
