Jeff WallisAfter his indentured apprenticeship at Rolls Royce Aero Engines in Bristol, Geoffrey graduated at Bath University in Mechanical Engineering with French.

During his student days he volunteered at Crofton Beam Engines and at Ironbridge, where he soon realised this was where his life’s interest lay. Thus in 1975 he joined the newly-formed Dorothea Restoration Engineers Ltd, which he subsequently directed for 32 years, providing specialised restoration services throughout the UK.

He is a chartered engineer, founder-member and director of the Avon Industrial Buildings Trust, and of the National Heritage Ironwork Group, trustee of the Bath Industrial Heritage Trust, leader of the Ironwork Conservation course at West Dean College, and he lectures widely on engineering & conservation matters.

Geoff became a member of the Newcomen Society in 1984
