In addition to the regular evening meetings, the Society runs a number of conferences, visits and social events:
- the annual Summer Meeting
- (additional Spring or Autumn Meeting - some years only)
- occasional conferences
- visits to places of interest in the UK

Annual Summer (and Spring) Meetings
Every year we run a summer meeting - sometimes overseas - with visits, talks and social gatherings. Find out more about the programme for this year's Meetings. Past Meetings have been in such places as:

Visits
One-day visits are organised from London and by the branches. Find out more about our programme of forthcoming visits for this year.
In the past few years we have arranged visits to such places as:
- The Falkirk Wheel
- Morwhellam Quay in Devon
- the Steam Museum at Kew
- disused underground stations
- Astrium Space Company
- a P&O container ship in Southampton
- the Walsall Leather Museum
- Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter
