Inter-Society Anniversaries Committee

The Newcomen Society organises a committee which meets twice a year to consider forthcoming anniversaries in the field of science, technology and engineering.

The committee comprises representatives from 26 scientific and engineering institutions, including the Royal Society, the Royal Institution and the Science Museum.

2008:	Model T Ford - (centenary) Rudolf Christian Karl Diesel - (150th anniversary of his birth) John Scott Russell - (bi-centenary of his birth) Henry Cole - (bi-centenary of his birth) James Nasmyth - (bi-centenary of his birth)
2009:	Charles Robert Darwin - (bi-centenary of his birth) On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection - (150th anniversary of its publication)
2010:	The Royal Society - (350th anniversary of its foundation)
2011:	John Rennie - (250th anniversary of his birth)
